Titans’ Ludolph sweeps hurdles in Burlington

BURLINGTON — Southern Coffey County junior Chonnor Ludolph continued to demonstrated that the back injury he suffered during basketball isn’t hampering his ability to run the hurdles.
Ludolph won the 110 hurdles at Tuesday’s Wildcat Classic in Burlington with a 11.24 while second place finished with a 16.22.
His victory wasn’t quite as resounding in the 300 hurdles, but he was still able to win the event with a 44.53.
Joining Ludolph as a first-place finisher for the Titan boys was Cooper Harred, who won the shot put with a 41’9”.
For the girls, junior Erikah Lyons picked up the Titans’ only individual win with a 112’3” in the javelin, while Danielle Kasprzak took second with a 103’2”.
The Titans boys and girls each finished fifth as a team.

HUMBOLDT
The Humboldt jumpers flourished on Tuesday with Colin Gillespie winning both the high jump and triple jump for the Cub boys.
For the girls, Britnee Works won the high jump and Kaylie Johnson was able to win the triple jump.
Gillespie cleared 6’1” in the high jump with Layton Gillespie finishing second with a 5’4”. In the triple jump, Colin Gillespie was also able to win by a comfortable margin with a 38’10’ — second place jumped 37’6”.
For the girls, Works’ winning jump in the high jump was 5 feet. Johnson jumped 33’10” in the triple jump.
Johnson also took second in the long jump.
Senior Annalise Whitcomb excelled in the throwing events with a second-place finish in the discus and a third-place mark in the javelin.
Sophomore Savanna Puckett finished second in the 100, fourth in the 200 and third in the 400.
Padyne Durand was second in the 100 hurdles and fourth in the 300 hurdles.
The Cubs finished third on the girls’ side and fourth on the boys’ side.

UP NEXT
Humboldt is scheduled to compete in the Neodesha Invitational today and Southern Coffey County will head to the Madison Invitational on Friday.
